I love the way our bedroom has progressed over the past 2-ish years. I always wanted our bedroom to feel light, bright, and serene and I really do feel a sense of calm when I am in that room. Years ago I stayed at Zero George, a beautiful hotel in Charleston, and loved the vibe of the room I was in. It was mostly light and bright but it still had some antique brown furniture and touches of blue and white and that's kind of my inspiration for both this bedroom and our guest bedroom!


I also always like to do white bedding as I think it's an easy canvas to work from with the rest of the room and also really easy to care for. The newest addition to our bedroom, though, is this beautiful 9x12 Aspen rug. It's made of a felted wool and it's so nice and thick. I think my favorite part of this rug is the beautiful texture that it adds to the room. It feels casual but luxurious at the same time. It's insanely soft underfoot which was so important to me for our bedroom because we are often barefoot there! Up close, it looks chunky, but when you get farther away, it all kind of just blends together in a beautiful melange of beige tones. I definitely recommend this rug- it's just beautiful and easy to care for and so high quality.
